Pan-European Round Table continues in Bad Homburg, Germany. Daniel Schönberger of Weizmann Institute, speaks about Israeli commitment to "do science for the benefit of humanity."
The third Pan-European Round Table in Germany and eighth overall since the series was launched, took place in Bad Homburg on 17 September, 2019.
Daniel Schönberger, the Director of Resource Development of the DACH region of the Weizmann Institute, spoke about new development of Israeli research innovations in Bad Homburg v.d.Höhe. Driven by an innate sense of curiosity and discovery, he pointed out that the Israeli way is about more than just science for the sake of science, but a genuine desire to "do science for the benefit of humanity." Schönberger provided insight into the development of the State of Israel into what is sometimes called, ‘Silicon Wadi.’
Hubs of high-tech industry can be found throughout much of Israel, notably in the area around Tel Aviv, including small clusters around the cities of Ra'anana, Petah Tikva, Herzliya, Netanya, the academic city of Rehovot and its neighbor, Rishon Le Zion. In addition, high-tech clusters can be found in Haifa and Caesarea. More recent innovation establishments have been founded in Jerusalem, and in towns such as Yokneam Illit, and in Israel's first ‘private city,’ Airport City, near Tel Aviv.
Arnon Perlman, the Executive Director for International Sales and Operations in Europe and Latin America, said, “This event in Bad Homburg really exemplifies why we started the Pan-European Round Table series. It’s one thing to highlight the products and features offered by Israel Bonds to our investors, but this series allows us to show the deeper and wider dimension of our contribution to Israel’s unparalleled rise as a global leader in high-tech, clean-tech and life-saving medical advances. The ethical value-system that underlies Israel-based breakthroughs is grounded in a fundamental respect for human life. This is something we can all be proud to uphold and support.”
