Frankfurt’s Third Run For Their Lives Event
On Sunday, September 1, the third Run For Their Lives event was held in Frankfurt am Main. The run was sponsored by a number of organizations, including Israel Bonds. Approximately 350 participants, including elderly individuals and children, as well as the Secretary of State of Hesse, walked from the City Hall in the center of Frankfurt to the Jewish Museum. A brief speech was given by Anat Eckstein, Chairperson of the Women’s Division of Israel Bonds Germany, in which she called for the release of the remaining 101 hostages held by Hamas and addressed the tragic news of the execution of six hostages in Gaza tunnels. Upon arriving at the square in front of the Jewish Museum, a violinist played three Israeli songs, and the crowd sang the Hatikva together. Anat closed the event with the hopeful phrase, “Let us hope that no more runs are necessary because all hostages are soon freed.”
