Back by Popular Demand - A Second Tour of London’s
Silver Vaults
By popular demand, the Silver Vaults Tour returned on 12 November. Two groups took part, alternating between a private guided tour and tea and cake at the elegant Law Society café.
While one group explored the famed underground market admiring its extraordinary antique silver collection and learning about its rich history and craftsmanship. The other enjoyed refreshments and conversation at the nearby Law Society Café. The groups then swapped, ensuring everyone experienced both parts of the programme.
Tucked beneath Chancery Lane, the Silver Vaults are one of London’s hidden gems. Originally built in the 1880s as a secure storage space for silver and valuables, the vaults are protected by thick steel walls and a huge door that once survived a WWII bomb. Today, they house more than 30 family-run shops filled with stunning antique silver, everything from Georgian candlesticks to Victorian tea sets and Judaica. Many of the dealers have been there for generations and are passionate about sharing the stories behind their pieces.
The event highlighted the Women’s Division’s ongoing dedication to building community and advancing the important mission of Israel Bonds.
