When Esther Petri-Adiel, Project Manager at Treffpunkt Frankfurt, approached us about partnering once again for the annual Shavuot celebration, we did not hesitate for a moment. We were delighted to participate and contribute to this special gathering by donating the traditional Shavuot cheesecake. More importantly, it gave us the opportunity to spend meaningful time with Holocaust survivors and their families.

Treffpunkt Frankfurt is a center for Holocaust survivors and their families, operated by the Central Welfare Office of Jews in Germany (ZWST e.V.). The center provides a warm and welcoming environment where survivors can connect, celebrate Jewish life, and strengthen community bonds.

The event began with welcoming remarks from Hanita Ajwojner, Managing Director of Israel Bonds Germany. In her address, she emphasized the importance of supporting Israel Bonds and the State of Israel and reflected on the profound connection between Israel and the generation of Holocaust survivors. She noted that without their resilience, determination, and commitment to rebuilding their lives and Jewish communities after the Shoah, Jewish life today would not be able to flourish
as it does.

A highlight of the celebration was the performance by Menachem Guenoun, the new cantor of the Frankfurt Synagogue. His beautiful selection of Shavuot songs captivated approximately 50 attendees adding a joyful and uplifting spirit to the afternoon.

The gathering was a meaningful reminder of the importance of community, remembrance, and continuity. We are grateful to Treffpunkt Frankfurt and Esther Petri-Adiel for their partnership and look forward to continuing this cherished tradition in the years to come.
