From Mission to Mission

Andrew M Hutter
US and International Chairman of the Board

Andy Hutter It is my honour to serve as US and International Chairman of the Board of the Development Corporation of Israel, commonly known as Israel Bonds.  We have a dynamic and growing international presence and I look forward to working with the staff and lay leaders in Canada, South America and Europe to continue and expand on the great successes we have made over the years. I truly appreciate the efforts of all of you to promote investment in Israel.  In my lifetime, I have never experienced such a threat to our Jewish homeland and our Jewish identity as we are living through at this time.  I am confident that Israel will win this war and strengthen the State of Israel for the future.  I am troubled by the rising anti-semitism that we are experiencing worldwide.  Make no mistake, anti-Zionism is anti-semitism.  We need to continue to be strong supporters of Israel not only with our investments through Israel Bonds but in our vocal and positive statements we make.

As we prepare for Passover this year, we see new meaning in the phrase,
'Let my people go'.

I have recently returned from our Israel Bonds Executive Mission to Israel which included leaders from the US and International Boards.  I appreciate the bonding we did amongst ourselves.  This mission gave me a chance to discuss our international campaign with some of our international leaders and I learned about the challenges in Canada, Europe and South America. We all experienced firsthand the horrors of October 7. We met with soldiers and survivors.  I am so impressed by the resiliency of the Israeli people.  We learned the truth about October 7.  This has strengthened me to continue to deliver a positive message about our homeland and to strengthen our mission of support for Israel.

As we prepare for Passover this year, we see new meaning in the phrase, “Let my people go”.  I do not think any of us would have expected this in the 21st century but here we are.  As we tell the Passover story at our Seder, let’s include a discussion about our brethren that are still being held hostage and for all those brave individuals and soldiers who have given their life in defence of our homeland.

I wish everyone a Chag Kosher Pesach Sameach.  May we continue to strengthen our homeland.  I look forward to meeting and working with you in my new role.
