Arnon Perlman

As the president of Israel Bonds, Israel Maimon focused his attention on the best way to promote our international operations. This included numerous visits to Europe and Latin America, personal meetings with lay leaders, advancing the Women’s Divisions in the in the countries we operate in,and much more.

Israel was the key factor in driving the completion of our brand-new, state-of-the-art online purchasing platform, stemming from his firm conviction that this service to our clients would be essential for us in the twenty-first century.

For all of that and much more: for his leadership, his vision, his guidance, his ability to look at the details without forgetting the big picture, we will always be grateful, and he will always be part of the story of Israel Bonds.

Israel is one of those rare people who is all heart

Allow me to finish with a personal note:

Twenty years ago, I had the pleasure of welcoming Israel Maimon to the prime minister’s office in his role as cabinet secretary, and immediately we became family.  In the past, when asked how this relationship happened so fast, I’ve said that it was hard to describe in words, but Israel is one of those rare people who is all heart.  Paraphrasing an expression of the former prime minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon: “he does what he says, and he says what he does.”

To all of you who are accustomed to describing someone with the term “mensch,” let me tell something: you don’t know what mensch really means until you have had the pleasure of spending time with Israel Maimon and calling
him your friend.

Israel, they say you can’t choose the family you are born into, but you can choose your friends.  I am lucky to have you as my friend.
