Exploring London’s Silver Vaults
On June 5th, the Women’s Division of Israel Bonds hosted a special cultural outing with an exclusive guided tour of the historic Silver Vaults in London. The group explored the renowned underground market, admired its remarkable collection of antique silver, and gained insight into its rich history and craftsmanship.
Tucked beneath Chancery Lane, the Silver Vaults are one of London’s hidden gems. Originally built in the 1880s as a secure storage space for silver and valuables, the vaults are protected by thick steel walls and a huge door that once survived a WWII bomb. Today, they house more than 30 family-run shops filled with stunning antique silver, everything from Georgian candlesticks to Victorian tea sets and Judaica. Many of the dealers have been there for generations and are passionate about sharing the stories behind their pieces.
Following the tour, attendees gathered for tea and cake at the nearby Law Society Café, enjoying meaningful conversation and connection.
The event reflected the Women’s Division’s ongoing commitment to strengthening community ties and supporting the vital mission of Israel Bonds.
