Celebrating Frankfurt’s Newest Graduates

On 18 June 2026, the graduating class of the I. E. Lichtigfeld School in Frankfurt am Main marked an important milestone as they celebrated the successful completion of their A-levels. In Germany, this qualification is known as the Abitur, the academic credential awarded after secondary school that enables graduates to pursue university studies.

Family, friends, teachers, and members of the Jewish Community of Frankfurt gathered at the historic Philanthropin auditorium for a ceremony celebrating the achievements of the graduates and the beginning of their next chapter.

Headteacher Dr. Noga Hartmann along with Board Member and Head of Education Marc Grünbaum shared words of congratulations, while Rabbi Julian-Chaim Soussan and the Q4 class representative reflected on the journey that brought the students to this moment.

Following the presentation of Abitur certificates, the graduates were recognised with honours and gifts, including an Israel Bond for each graduate, a special gift from the Jewish Community of Frankfurt marking this important milestone.

The Mazel Tov Bond, issued by the State of Israel, was presented as both a celebration of the graduates’ achievements and a meaningful symbol of their connection with Israel as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

The celebrations continued into the evening with a graduation ball, bringing together graduates, families, and friends to celebrate this memorable occasion.

Israel Bonds was proud to be part of this milestone, recognising the achievements of Frankfurt’s newest graduates and sharing in a celebration of Jewish education, community, and the future.
