Journalists in São Paulo shed light on the
atrocities of October 7

On Sunday, March 17, in celebration of International Women's Day, Israel Bonds Women's Division Brazil, in partnership with Hebraica sport Club and in support of The Brazilian Israelite Confederation (Confederação Israelita do Brasil or CONIB) and Jewish Federation of São Paulo -FISESP, held an event titled “Journalists Mission in Israel - The faces of Terror”.

An audience of approximately 500 people had the opportunity to hear from non-Jewish journalists who were invited by Alessandra Safra to visit Israel after the attacks of October 7th. They shared everything they witnessed in the destroyed places and recounted their experiences and emotions when meeting with families of the hostages and injured soldiers who returned from Gaza.

Today, they feel obliged to reveal the truth to the world, in addition to combating anti-Semitism. The event began with the singer Fortuna singing Hatikvah. In the midst of the event was an unforgettable surprise for all attendees, the special presentation by Oded Lugassy, a volunteer paramedic with United Hatzalah in Israel, recounting live from the Kotel what 7/10 was like for him and the difficulty of the work in that moment.

One of the speakers encapsulated the experience of visiting Israel with the famous adage “What enters through the eyes never leaves the soul”. At the end of the event, everyone present chanted together “Bring them Home” with live images of the Kotel steaming.

It was a memorable night for the Jewish community of São Paulo.
