Israel Bonds Women’s Division Committee Hosts Breakfast for Israel Bonds Global President and CEO, Dani Naveh in Mexico.
Linda Sirazi
Chair, Israel Bonds Women’s Division, Mexico
On February 21, Israel Bonds in Mexico was honoured to host Israel Bonds President and Global CEO Dani Naveh along with his wife Tsili.
To mark the occasion, the Women’s Division committee hosted an intimate breakfast at our office, attended by many of our committee members. We had the chance to share a video showcasing our activities from last year, talk about our work, and seize a wonderful opportunity to get to know Dani, discuss the situation in Israel and of course, show our support.
The following is an excerpt from the speech I delivered at the breakfast:
We usually say, “When women support each other, incredible things happen." Our committee is fairly new, but very active because we are committed to doing our utmost to support Israel. In a short time, we have managed to establish ourselves as an important division with a strong presence in the Mexican Jewish community. Recently we became part of the women's federation in Mexico, consisting of fifty women volunteers from different organizations that support each other.
Our efforts have made a big impact across the community. We are proud to have forged relationships with the Jewish day schools where elementary aged children who were gifted a card game we developed called “Bond-to-Bond”. Middle school students raise funds for their Israel trip by selling branded chocolate bars we donated, and high school students take part in the “Rocket Challenge” competition we are proud to sponsor. All these projects allow us to build connections with students and parents alike.
The wine tasting event we hosted attracted many young couples and was a tremendous success as was the Challah for women with the sensational Challah Prince! Our partnerships with high-impact Jewish community organizations such as Yad Vashem, Yesod Haolam, who provide meals and other provisions for families and individuals in the community who are hospitalised, and Eshet Chayil, an organisation born from the tragic events of October 7 to help the women of Israel who’s loved ones have been called to the front lines by delivering care packages to them in Israel, have been invaluable. All these efforts afford Israel Bonds the opportunity to be a continuous presence in the hearts and homes of the community here in Mexico.
After the tragic events of October 7th, we initiated a wonderful Hanukkah campaign to help raise critical funds in support of the State of Israel. Today we proudly present Dani Naveh with a symbolic cheque to represent that endeavour.
I feel very honoured and grateful to be part of this incredible Women’s Division committee, whose devotion to supporting the State of Israel has made us a strong, united family.
Today, more than ever, we understand how important Israel is to the Diaspora, and the Diaspora is to Israel.
We usually say, “When women support each other, incredible things happen."
This is who we are, this is how we feel, and this is our goal, our present, and our future.
Today, more than ever, we have Israel in our hearts.
Today, more than ever, we know we are one family, Am Echad.
Today, more than ever, we shout, Am Israel Chai.
