Profiles in Leadership

“I feel very proud and excited to be part of the team we are forming. I am sure that with work and commitment we will continue to contribute much and help strengthen the special bond we have with the State of Israel.”
 - Linda Abadi de Sirazi

Since I was a child, I have received Israel bonds as gifts from my grandfather and my parents, an example I learned from them. Now, I can continue this tradition with my children, friends and associates.

It is an honor and a great responsibility to be chosen as the Chair of the Israel Bonds Women’s Division in Mexico.

Allow me to share some reflections on what this means to me.  It is vital to realize how our work and our organization are described with that single and powerful word – Bond.

The word ‘Bond’ not only represents our present, but it is a link from our past to our future.

‘Bond’ also defines the Jewish people, wherever they live, and their relationship with the State of Israel. It describes millions of Jews throughout the world bonding together thanks to Judaism and Ertez Israel. Our home will always be in Israel, whether physically or spiritually.

In a global sense, we are a minority.  How is it we have the positive, life-affirming impact that we do? The answer is the same:  it is the bond, the link, that has existed, exists and will exist throughout time and across vast distances.

It is an unbreakable bond, and it has survived the perils of world history. And yet, no mater the depth of hatred against us, no matter the adversity of those who would do us harm, our bond remains as strong as ever.

I am very grateful for all the support that Women’s Division International has given me, as well as the Israel Bonds office in Mexico.   I feel very proud and excited to be part of the team we are forming. I am sure that with work and commitment we will continue to contribute much and help strengthen the special bond we have with the State of Israel.
